TALLINN, September 14, 2015 – The Association of Estonian Financial Sector Employees (EFL) and the Estonian Trade Union Confederation (EAKL) have categorically condemned the systematic and blunt violation of employee representative’s rights by Nordea.
Last December 14th, the European Parliament rejected, by majority vote, the report of Mrs Mathieu (EPP) on the single residence and work permit for third-country nationals. This majority recommended a new report to be submitted within two months. The European Trade Union Confederation (ETUC) wishes to stress that the future of the labour market is at stake. It calls on its member organisations to mobilise on this issue.
The study “Flexicurity in Estonia: the Current State and Perspectives” initiated by the Estonian Trade Union Confederation shows that out of the four components of an effective and balanced labour market, only one has received sufficient attention – increasing the flexibility of employment legislation.
